Ending Day

This piece recently won Best of Show in the Richeson School of Art and Gallery's  'Casein 2026' contest!

Casein is a semi-soluble medium that is made from milk protein.  I have read that there were traces of casein, pigmented paint found on the Egyptian tombs.  It dries to a hard film over time and can be varnished and framed without glass.  Illustrators were it's main users for years, until acrylics became available.  It's liked by artists for it's semi matte finish, and because it can be painted over nearly immediately after being played.

Paintings like these small studies are painted from life, or in the studio as ideas for larger paintings that go to my galleries. This is sold unframed and priced accordingly, with free shipping included.
